Day 17: Links for Context

Housekeeping today. I’ve received feedback that many of my posts are too inaccessible for a lay person lacking the necessary context. There’s a fine line between adequately grounding your reader and providing original commentary. My strategy is to hyperlink the reader to the necessary context elsewhere, otherwise I run the risk of becoming too skilled at writing literature reviews in blog form. As I develop a voice for my own commentary and experiences, I want to build on a shared knowledge base.

Today I go back to previous posts for edits and links.

Having taken two hours to retroactively add links, I highly recommend my future self to do it properly the first time around. Inserting the same context links across related articles is tedious but important, especially if I consider each post standalone.
